J-Weight Sinker — Precision-Cast for Singapore Waters

The J-Weight Sinker is a Japanese-style elongated lead sinker with a fixed top ring. Its streamlined torpedo profile cuts through current cleanly, holds bottom without rolling, and stays in contact with structure. Sold individually — choose the exact weight you need.

Depth & Load Guidance

  • #0.5–#1.5 (14–42 g): Inshore, estuaries, jetty. Depths up to ~10 m in calm-to-moderate current. Pair with light-action rods rated 10–30 g cast weight.
  • #2.0–#4.0 (56–112 g): Tidal channels, nearshore reef, 10–30 m. Works well under moderate current. Use medium-action rods rated 30–120 g.
  • #5.0–#8.0 (140–224 g): Offshore reef, 30–80 m, fast tidal flow. Requires medium-heavy to heavy rods rated 80–250 g. Go heavier in spring tides.
  • #10–#16 (280–448 g): Surf casting, rock fishing, offshore deep drop. Use heavy surf or boat rods rated 200–500 g.
  • #18–#20 (500–950 g): Extreme deep-sea or heavy surf only. Requires purpose-built heavy rods rated 500 g+ cast weight. Verify rod and reel drag ratings before use.

Line Compatibility

  • #0.5–#2.0: PE 1.0–2.0 (12–20 lb braid) with 20–30 lb fluorocarbon leader.
  • #3.0–#6.0: PE 2.0–4.0 (20–40 lb braid) with 40–60 lb fluorocarbon leader.
  • #8.0–#14: PE 4.0–6.0 (40–60 lb braid) with 60–80 lb fluorocarbon leader.
  • #16–#20: PE 6.0–10 (60–100 lb braid) with 80–130 lb fluorocarbon or mono leader.
  • Always connect via a quality snap swivel or double-crimped loop — the top ring is rated for typical fishing loads but should not be shock-loaded on the strike.

Storage & Care

  • Rinse with fresh water after each saltwater session to extend lead surface life.
  • Store in a divided tackle tray or cloth roll to prevent sinkers from knocking together and deforming the ring.
  • Keep away from hooks and soft plastics — lead oxidation can transfer to lure coatings.
  • Inspect the top ring before each use; replace if the ring shows signs of fatigue or distortion.
