Overview This is a sturdy, rectangular box-style trap designed primarily for catching crabs, crayfish, and other bottom-dwelling crustaceans. Its efficient flow-through design and collapsible frame make it a highly effective and storage-friendly option for both casual and frequent anglers.

Design & Materials

Structure: The trap features a rigid rectangular wire frame that maintains a spacious internal volume. It utilizes secure hinge points (marked by white plastic clips) that allow the entire structure to fold down flat for easy transport and storage.

Netting: It is enclosed in a heavy-duty, black diamond-mesh netting. The mesh is sized to securely hold your catch while minimizing water resistance during retrieval.

Reinforced Base: The bottom perimeter of the trap is tightly wrapped with thick, braided black rope. This adds crucial abrasion resistance, protecting the bottom netting from tearing when dragged across rocky or rough aquatic terrain, while also providing a little extra weight to keep the trap planted firmly on the bottom.

Key Features

Inward-Sloping Entry Funnels: As highlighted in your reference photos, the short sides of the trap feature inward-sloping mesh panels that act as funnels. This clever design naturally guides crustaceans toward the bait and into the trap, but makes it incredibly difficult for them to find their way back out.

Integrated Bait Pouch: Suspended perfectly in the center of the trap is a built-in, cylindrical mesh bait pocket. This ensures the bait remains centrally located, dispersing its scent evenly in all directions to draw the catch fully inside the trap before they can reach the food.
